When They Fell

Ask me how I felt, when they fell.

Ask me to describe,

the way that heat and tears

melt away a thousand lives.

It was hell on earth.

I saw hell on earth,

through my eyes.

Ask me how I felt, when they fell.

Ask me to describe,

the sound of screams and shattered dreams,

people falling from the sky.

It was hell on earth.

I heard hell on earth,

as I cried.

Will you meet me on the other side?

Will you hold my hand?

I’ll wait there,

at heaven’s gate,

where my angel will come,

and I’ll understand.

How’s it gonna be now that this train has lost its track

And the road has more winding ways?

I pray to God,

as only he could bring you back

And remind me of those brighter days.

Ask me how I felt, when they fell.

Ask me to describe,

a love whose life a candle in the wind,

Burning for the last time.

This is hell on earth.

Hell on earth.

Feels like hell on earth,

Through my eyes.

I saw hell on earth, through my eyes.
